Happy New Year

I had a fabulous New Year spent in the French Quarter watching the fleur de lis drop from Jax Brewery and then moseying on over to the river to watch an explosion of fireworks. It's been said that New Orleans is one of the top 20 places to spend New Year's Eve and also one of the top 10 ROMANTIC cities and it sure was that night (Oh and we didn't spend a dime!!!).

The temperature was perfect as the moon cast its light on the Mississippi River giving the evening a romantic and historic feel.  I imagined what it must have been like when only gas lit lanterns lined the streets and carriages hurried to and fro...

Anyway, I don't do resolutions but I do strive to live purposefully and ask God to lead me on the right path. In my opinion that covers it all!

Here are a few things I LOVED in 2012!

Korean Dramas - I'm HOOKED. It's so much better than regular t.v. The subtle innocent romance, scenery, costumes and customs have me living in an alternate world.

Bag Balm - My hands have never felt better!

Robes - I'm always snuggled in one when I'm at home.

Iyanla Vanzant - I've especially enjoyed her "In The Meantime" books. This sister is the bomb dot com.

Sunsets - Preferably over water.

Self-help & money books - the more I read these types of books the more I edge toward perfection and wealth (or so I'd like to think).

Girl Talk - I've had many lunches filled with deep thoughtful conversations AND silliness with my girlfriends. These outings complete me as a woman.

Exercising - I've cut back a lot but I still enjoy going for my walks & occasional bike ride.

Solitude - I happily indulge in the solitude only Mother Nature can provide when I go on my walks.

Shrimp - shrimp poboys, shrimp etouffee, shrimp salad, grilled shrimp...you name it!

What are some things you loved in 2012 & how did you spend New Year's Eve?

  1. I am glad you had a great time! You know how I spent my new year, lol. I.am not sure what I loved from 2012 outside of my husband (ha!). I am looking forward to not following the fashion trends this year... ;)

    1. Brandi I tend to like the girlie flicks with drama and romance. For most men those don't have enough fighting. ;)

  4. I loved spending time with my family and starting new traditions in 2012. I also enjoyed going to my first blog conference. We spent New Year's Eve at home flipping between the different specials they aired.

    1. Minh, so many to choose from. I started with Jewel in the Palace. You might want to check out the reviews like I did and decide if you only have time to watch a 24 episode series or a 60 episode series! Thanks for stopping by.

  7. Happy New Year!!!

I loved my new found peace from within - you know, the one that only God can give to us. I removed many negative people from my life, ohh the joy of positive people is an awesome thing! I highly recommend this to everyone - yes, even if they're family!

I loved that my favorite color (hot pink) was brought to the fashion fore front.
